So we have not posted much since we moved to West Virginia. We finally feel like we are getting settled into a nice place and getting stuff organized. Gordon is busy everyday with his studies. Koyo is growing like crazy!!! We went to the doctors and he is 15lbs 12oz and 25 4/8 inches long. wow!!! so big. Chisa has been trying to keep busy with decorating the house, learning to craft with some new friends, and shopping with coupons!!! Its amazing how much time it takes to cut out coupons and to find deals!
Well, we have been to Japan and Atlanta since I last blogged. Reiko, Chisa's sister's, wedding went well and we took lots of pics. We enjoyed Japan... Koyo did very well on the flight and everywhere we went. He slept through most part of it. He got to meet with his Grandpa, great grandma, aunts, good friends of ours in Japan. Koyo got to visit the Tokyo temple, got to ride the Shinkansen (bullet train), and rode on the first flight direct flight from SLC to Japan.
In Atlanta for Granddaddy's 80th b-day we got to visit with everyone!!! It was lots of fun to see all the relatives there. Koyo got to go to his first baseball game for Fourth of July. Chisa and nanna left the stadium during the fireworks since Koyo was asleep and we didn't want to frighten him too much.
We said our buys in SLC and moved at the end of July. We drove 3 days to get to WV with Koyo, Stitch (our rabbit), Gordon, Chisa, and all the rest of our luggages. We were quite stuffed. Koyo did very well. He sleeped most of the time. He cried couple of times because he was either hungry or just was tired and wanted to be held. We had to stop every 3 hrs atleast. We got to visit the Kozlowski's in Denver the first night. We also were able to have dinner with the Nichols family that night. The second day we stayed at a motel...not the best, but we got to bring in Stitch so it was good. We finally got to Huntington, our new home at about 11PM. We unlocked the door excited to see our new home!!! Then a gush of stinky air hit us like bat right when the door opened. It smelt like there were dogs and cats' droppings all over the carpet in that house. We were very disappointed.
So we talked to our landlord, had the carpets cleaned again... didn't help. We moved out to another place that the landlord showed us. We found mold everywhere. I'm not sure what we were thinking when we moved in, but every night at around 2AM our neighbors would come out to sit in the front loan and talk really loud. Also there were people walking by and driving buy just yelling out things we didn't want to hear. We decided to move again. Luckily Gordon's parents were here for the White Coat Ceremony and helped us find a decent place out a little further from Marshall University. Chisa was so glad to find a place that she felt safer and the house was a lot cleaner!!!
During all of this Gordon had his orientation, White Coat Ceremony and his first days of class. He was busy trying to get settled while starting school.
We finally are getting settled and have gotten most of our furniture. Its been a crazy start here at Huntington but we are feeling good about being here! We miss everyone in SLC!!!
